From the car park at Hammerstiel you take a reasonably flat route through the forest. After about 20 minutes you reach a fork where you take a left to the Schapbachhütte.
Then take the trail leading back into the wide grazing land and a left turn into the forest. Then continue via the Watzmannkar to the 3rd Watzmannkind left hand side or right to the Skischartel.
